You will hear different terms regarding a flower’s environmental and social impact. Each flower certification program has it’s own standards. Some of the programs address environmental impact like use of pesticides and water conservation. Some address the social impact on workers like working conditions and wages , & some address flower quality standards like cold chain management. More consumers are demanding environmentally friendly products and the floral industry is responding. Here are some links to read up on the subject.

I’m in the same boat as you, I see the change in weather happening all around and know that global warming is gaining faster than scientists can predict. I agree with these new green trends, we can’t keep pumping out dirt into the air or other things bad for the environment and not expect it to change.
It’s great to see more green choices out there.
I wrote about a couple of new green choices out there, please check it out and comment with your ideas as well. I look forward to hear from you. Thanks.

I have read your blog postings on green issues, they were interesting. I am glad people are taking the time to publicize some of the green choices available.
Thanks for the visit, I look foward to more convos between our two blogs.
I agree, it’s great to see the green culture finally hit mainstream, and not just consumers now, but even big corporations are taking up cause and changing their way of conducting buisness.
