The harsh economy is causing crankiness..Have you noticed? Every where you turn, people are cranky. I have some ideas about it..
We need to feel more grateful………….
I know that it is hard some days, but it’s more about making it a habit. Just ask yourself every day, what you have to feel grateful for today. It’s amazing the things that you can come up with. I started keeping journal, and a pattern started emerging. It was always the little things in life, things so small that they were being overlooked in my hectic busy day. I realized that I was just forgetting to take note of them. Once I started noticing them, I instantly felt less cranky! In looking back over my journal, I saw that I did indeed have some bad days, I mean, when all I could find to appreciate was the rain? Well you know, I probably wasn’t having that great of a day 🙂 but you get the idea.
We need to be more generous……………..
I am trying to be more generous because it makes me feel better. Even in the simplest of things, like letting the person who has fewer groceries to buy, go in front of me so that they have to wait in line for less time. It’s not a big deal, but it makes me feel better. I guess letting the person with MORE groceries go in front of me which causes me to have to wait even longer would be MORE GENEROUS, hmmm…. I might have to rethink that one! 🙂
It is such a downer to listen to everyone complaining about everything. Fine, complainers have a point of view which is important to share also, just remember that for every one complaining, there is the counterpoint of hope out there, and you really just have to make it a priority to look for it. Kind of the same as looking for the rainbow after that nasty rain storm! It is there, you just need to look for it.
Don’t Give up…………
I remember being a kid and learning to ride a two wheel bike, it’s not easy, you fall down a lot, and you scrape your knees a lot and it is really frustrating! But that sheer determination is in us all. It applies to life in general, just brush off the dust, and get back up and give it a try again. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There’s no point in being a fool about it. 🙂 I think that was WC Fields who used that quote, forgive me.
It’s contagious and it works! The next time you are feeling gloomy and cranky, try it, you will see that it works. I’ll start the discussion of things that make you smile..
A hug, babies, puppies, green lights all the way to work, sunshine, the comedy show the other night…okay now you think of some and share them with me, because I may run out of ideas soon.
